Rhoda Goldman Plaza (RGP) is an assisted living and memory care community, built on a foundation of not-for-profit values and Jewish principles. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Receptionist is the first point of contact for residents, families, and visitors at our assisted living and memory care facility. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, managing front desk operations, and ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for all residents and guests. The Receptionist will handle inquiries, assist with administrative tasks, and support the overall operations of the facility. The Receptionist embodies empathy and warmth, fostering a supportive, family-like atmosphere for all residents while upholding the values of Jewish Family and Children’s Services and Jewish traditions.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Hourly Pay: $22/hr (depending on experience)
  • Employment Type: full-time, non-exempt position with benefits
  • Employer 403(b) retirement match plus additional employer contribution (subject to eligibility)

  • 16 holidays (10 federal and up to 6 Jewish holidays), annually
  • 3 weeks of vacation and 2 weeks of sick leave, annually

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet residents, families, and visitors warmly, addressing inquiries and providing assistance as needed. Act as a liaison between residents and staff
  • Maintain the safety and security of residents, guests, and staff by controlling all points of entrance into the building. Monitor closed-circuit security cameras and manage access to the facility
  • Complete daily shift duty checklists and maintain accurate logbook entries, including endorsements for adjacent shifts. Receives deliveries and mail, ensuring residents receive their packages
  • Ensuring effective communication by answering telephones, direct calls, and assisting with inquiries. Serve as the center of communication for the organization during emergency situations. Facilitate interdepartmental communication using various devices, including 2-way radios, multi-line telephones, cell phones, e-mails and emergency/security equipment
  • Manage transportation services by coordinating pick-ups and drop-offs with Drivers and processing taxi vouchers

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one (1) to three (3) months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must obtain clearance or exemption approval from the Department of Social Services following FBI and DOJ livescan background check prior to employment
  • Must undergo a Physical exam, Tuberculosis Screening, resulting in a negative TB diagnosis prior to employment, and Influenza Vaccination (required during flu season: September to March)
  • Empathetic and warmth approach with seniors. Ability to manage difficult or emotional situations with residents, respond promptly to their needs, solicit feedback, and meet commitments
