Health Services Assistant Director

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Rhoda Goldman Plaza (RGP) Health Services Director, the Health Services Assistant Director plays a critical role in overseeing and delivering direct care to residents. This includes supervising medication programs, monitoring health conditions, and ensuring compliance with professional standards, health regulations, and Title 22. This role supervises the care team on their shift, provides detailed reports, and maintains regular communication with physicians and family members. The role requires a compassionate approach to care, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive environment for our residents.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Salary Range: $95,000 – $110,000 (depending on experience)
  • Employment Type: full-time, exempt position with benefits
  • Work Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and direct care personnel on the shift, ensuring adherence to professional care standards and compliance with Title 22 regulations
  • Provide guidance and support to the care team concerning response rates and address challenging cases
  • Oversee and implement staff training as directed by the Health Services Director
  • Oversee and maintain current CDSS licensing compliance, with no type A or B citations, with professional standards, health regulations and Title 22
  • Maintain regular communication with physicians and family members regarding changes in residents’ physical health or needs, ensuring confidentiality
  • Complete health assessment, subcutaneous injections and other treatments and medications as needed within the scope of the LVN license

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) certification or Registered Nurse (RN); First Aid Certification; and CPR certification
  • Experienced LVN that, under the supervision of the Director of Health Services, fulfill the essential duties of the LVN position, creates new processes and implements practices. Take on a proactive role in resident health promotion and family communication. This role trains other LVNs and Med Techs
  • Must undergo a Physical exam and Tuberculosis Screening, resulting in a negative TB diagnosis prior to employment. The screening must be signed by an MD within the last six months or within seven days of employment (LIC503)
  • Must obtain clearance or exemption approval from the Department of Social Services following FBI and DOJ livescan background check prior to employment
