New Leaders Fellows 2025
JFCS is pleased to offer an inspiring educational experience to emerging Jewish leaders of the Bay Area through the JFCS New Leaders Fellowship. The seven-month Fellowship provides distinguished young adults a unique training in nonprofit governance through the lens of JFCS’ mission and expertise as a human service agency. JFCS Fellows grapple with critical issues facing the Jewish and wider community and dive into key tenets of nonprofit management, while building a collaborative community of peers.
Meet Our 2025 Cohort of Fellows!
Noah Berenberg
Noah is a San Francisco native and has been connected to JFCS his entire life. His professional career has been in restaurant and retail operations and human resources. He currently leads the US Western compliance team at Starbucks Coffee Company. He is a Brandeis School graduate and received his BS in Business Administration from the University of Mary Washington College. He currently lives in San Francisco’s Sunset district with his wife Margaret and 4 year old son, Sebastian. Noah enjoys cooking, playing with Sebastian, and airplane flights.
Samuel Feinberg
Samuel has spent his career at the preeminent leadership advisory and executive search firm Spencer Stuart, where he is currently a Senior Associate. He specializes in conducting Chief Product Officer, Chief Technology Officer, CEO, and General Manager searches and advising companies on product-led transformation. As a proud San Francisco native, he first learned of JFCS through his parents’ involvement and was in the 2023 Young Adult Leadership Council. He received his BA in Law & Society and Politics from Oberlin College, and he currently lives in Potrero Hill with his fiancé and dog. Sam is a distance runner, loves a great meal with friends and family, and enjoys any time spent outdoors.
Steve Feyer
Steve Feyer is a San Francisco native and a proud volunteer with the JFCS Friendly Visitor and Ukraine Response programs. He earned his undergraduate degree at Princeton University and an MBA at Carnegie Mellon University. As a B2B technology professional, he held foundational roles with two “unicorn” companies as a product manager and product marketer, and now works for SAP. He currently lives in Silicon Valley and is a member of Kol Emeth in Palo Alto.
Hallie Forman
Hannah Greinetz
Hannah Greinetz leads an account management team at Atrius, an energy and sustainability SaaS platform focused on delivering data driven insights that lead to energy and carbon reduction in large building portfolios. Hannah is a Bay Area native now living in Marin County. She holds an MBA in Sustainable Business and has previous experience working in nonprofits, renewable energy, sustainability consulting, and scrap metal recycling. In her free time, Hannah enjoys discovering new experiences and perspectives through travel, surfing, reading, being in the mountains, and connecting with friends and family over a good meal.
Jamie Haft
Jamie is a former nonprofit executive director turned nonprofit consultant. After leading a national network with 80+ communities addressing systemic poverty, she became a nonprofit consultant specializing in strategic planning for mission-driven organizations. She completed a master’s degree in public relations from Syracuse University and a bachelor’s in arts-based community development from New York University. Jamie lives in Alameda with her partner, Abby.
Ellie Rose Maas
Ellie Rose is an Arizona native with an MBA in Healthcare Management from Davenport University and a BA in Mathematics and Biochemistry from Whittier College. Since moving to San Francisco, she has become an active member of Sha’ar Zahav, and a new volunteer with both JFCS and OnLok Senior Center. An avid hiker, she and her spouse completed the Te Araroa trail across New Zealand earlier in the year before their wedding. Ellie Rose previously worked in surgical device sales, but has left that career to build a more community-focused life.
Max Malakoff
Max is a San Francisco native with an MBA from Reichman University, where he focused on innovation and business strategy, and a BS in Cognitive Science from UC Davis. His career spans consulting, operations, and project management, with roles at organizations like BBVA and Mastercard, where he drove innovation and strategic growth. Max is an active participant in the Bay Area Jewish community, supporting initiatives that build connections locally and globally. In his free time, he enjoys drinking coffee, surfing, and discovering new parts of the world.
Abby O.
Abby began her career as a political and labor organizer in Indiana. She received a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Indiana University. After college, she began working in higher education in the field of public safety, and has spent more than a decade working for Big Ten and PAC 12 institutions. She specializes in the practical application of the Clery Act on campus, with attention to policy and procedure development, data analysis, records management, and crisis communications. Abby lives in Alameda with her partner Jamie.
Mara Rosenberg
Mara is a geriatrician at the University of California, San Francisco. She grew up in Portland, Oregon, and attended Brandeis University and Oregon Health and Science University. She relocated to the Bay Area in 2023 to complete her medical training. She is an active volunteer with the JFCS Friendly Visitors program and is passionate about improving the lives of older adults and their care partners. Outside of work, Mara enjoys hiking, visiting her family in Israel, and looking for local dogs to adopt.
Danna Sadetsky
Danna grew up in the Bay Area, after immigrating with her family at 4 years old from the former Soviet Union (Tashkent, Uzbekistan). After graduating from UC Davis, she has spent her career in different aspects of retail supply chain, currently managing new product introductions for PlayStation eCommerce. Danna lives in Hayes Valley and enjoys art, Soulcycle, reading, the beautiful SF parks, and the never ending world of media consumption.
Sam Syde
Sam Syde is a senior consultant at The Croner Company, a boutique compensation consulting firm that specializes in the nonprofit and foundation sectors. His core expertise is the review and development of total rewards programs for staff, executives, and boards of directors. Sam is a California native, originally from Southern California and now living in San Francisco. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a BA in Political Science and a BS in Environmental Science, Policy and Management. Sam is an avid foodie, loves urban hiking (walking in other cities, but we have so many hills!) and entertaining friends and family.
Olivia Tomares
Olivia works in financial product partnerships at Stripe, after spending the majority of her career working in payments both at Google and Square. She was born and raised in Potomac, Maryland, and moved to San Francisco in 2015 after graduating from Vanderbilt University. While at Vanderbilt, she received her BS in Human and Organizational Development. She is currently the President of the Crohn’s and Colitis Young Professionals Board (NorCal chapter) and was previously an active volunteer with The Friendship Circle. She lives in San Francisco with her fiancé, Joe.
Dempsey Wartell
Dempsey is a San Francisco native with a degree in economics from Colgate University. She started her career in consulting and has since moved into B2B tech, where she’s focused on scaling companies and growing revenue with roles in business operations and sales strategy. When not working, Dempsey takes every opportunity to travel, ski, cook, and enjoy the outdoors.
