New Leaders Fellows 2024

JFCS is pleased to offer an inspiring educational experience to emerging Jewish leaders of the Bay Area through the JFCS New Leaders Fellowship. The seven-month Fellowship provides distinguished young adults a unique training in nonprofit governance through the lens of JFCS’ mission and expertise as a human service agency. JFCS Fellows grapple with critical issues facing the Jewish and wider community and dive into key tenets of nonprofit management, while building a collaborative community of peers.

Meet Our Fellows! 2024 Cohort

Aaron Wolf

Aaron is a scientist and science communicator at Ancestry.com, a family history and DNA testing company. He received his BAs in Anthropology and Biology from Oberlin College in Ohio, and his PhD in Genome Sciences from the University of Washington in Seattle. In 2020, Aaron served as the AAAS Science Policy Fellow to the Federal Judiciary in Washington, D.C. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Aaron spent many years moving between East and West coasts, before settling in San Francisco in 2021.

Anthony Ciccone

Anthony is a senior attorney at Stripe, a payments processing technology company. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and the University of Pittsburgh Law School, where he received the John P. Gismondi certificate for achievement in public service. Anthony is an active volunteer with JFCS’ friendly visitors program. Originally from San Diego, Anthony moved to the Bay Area in 2017, and currently resides in Miraloma Park with his wife and daughter.

Danielle Heller

Danielle is an accounting professional with 10 years combined experience in both public accounting and global accounting operations for two previously publicly traded software companies, New Relic and Coupa Software. She received her BS in Business Administration from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a concentration in accounting and a minor in psychology. A Bay Area native, she has lived in both the East Bay and South Bay and has been living in San Francisco since 2018. Danielle is a recent alumna of the JFCS Young Adult Leadership Council (2023 cohort) and a JFCS Friendly Visitors volunteer.

Danila Musante

Danila is a clinical psychologist who is on faculty at the College of Marin where she provides clinical services to students in the Psychological Services Program. Danila also has a therapy private practice in the East Bay. An Oakland native and graduate of Harvard College, Danila holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Emory Skolkin

Emory serves as the Head of People and Culture at Geomagical Labs, a tech research and development arm of IKEA. He is most energized by the chance to grow and develop his teammates as they tackle the toughest challenges presented by the intersection of augmented reality and artificial intelligence. Emory completed his MBA in Nashville at Vanderbilt and moved to Seattle to work for Microsoft’s HR department immediately after graduating. He settled in San Mateo in the fall of 2023. In his free time, Emory loves to write and record music and enjoys exploring new music and playlists.

Erin Leon Olson

Erin has built her career in the sustainability and environmental fields—ranging from oyster restoration in the Chesapeake Bay and energy conservation in rural Wyoming to global fashion supply chain assessment. She is currently a managing consultant with Guidehouse, focusing on greenhouse gas emissions reductions and general decarbonization strategy for large apparel clients. She attended Colgate University for her undergraduate degree in History and Environmental Studies and received her Master of Environmental Management from Duke University. A proud native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Erin moved to San Francisco in 2017 and now resides in Mill Valley with her husband and daughter.

Fabian Chernizky

Fabian is Senior Manager of Go-To-Market Strategy at LinkedIn. He has previously lived in his hometown of Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the Netherlands, and in Panama. He came to the United States in 2017 to pursue an MBA at Harvard Business School. In his free time, Fabian enjoys outdoor activities, learning new habits and hobbies, and discussing urbanism, the economy and societal issues. In the past, he has participated in the JFCS Donor Circle and initiatives for the Breast Cancer Prevention Partners. He moved to San Francisco in 2020, currently lives in Hayes Valley, and is excited to help the local community.

Jennifer Gottlieb-Shetrit

A former non-profit consultant for Jewish organizations, Jennifer is now a top-producing realtor serving the San Francisco Bay Area, ranked in the top 1.5% of agents nationwide. She moved to the Bay Area over 10 years ago, spreading roots in San Francisco after falling in love with the city and its lifestyle. Originally from Boston, Jennifer attended NYU and consequently traveled the world, spending three years abroad in the Middle East (Israel and Morocco) and obtaining an MA from Hebrew University, where she met her husband. Jennifer and her husband are long-term residents of San Francisco’s Mission neighborhood along with their dog, and (coming soon!) new addition to their family.

Julia Hanlon

Julia is an architect on the Real Estate Design team at Salesforce, where she oversees the company’s architectural standards and design tools and technology. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Julia received her BA in Architecture from the University of Illinois and her Masters from the University of Michigan. After completing her education, she made aliyah and lived in Tel Aviv for 7 years before moving to San Francisco in 2019. Julia now lives in the Marina with her fiance and two dogs.

Monica Spitzer

Monica is an immigration lawyer who specializes in humanitarian and family cases and is a passionate advocate for immigrants’ rights. A Florida native, she received her BA in International Relations from Agnes Scott College and her JD from Georgia State University College of Law, both in Atlanta. She moved to the Bay Area in 2014 and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Coastside Jewish Community. Monica lives in Half Moon Bay with her husband, son, and their cats and chickens.

Nicole Zuuring

Nicole is a seasoned marketing professional, with over 15 years of experience at leading companies like Salesforce, Dropbox, Kleiner Perkins, and Vanta. She currently serves as a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), advisor, and consultant for both leading startups and established technology firms. Originally from Canada, Nicole came to the US to attend college in Texas, where she received her bachelor’s degree in international relations from St. Mary’s University. She moved to the Bay Area in 2005 and currently lives in San Rafael with her husband and two children.

Reva Luftman

Reva has spent her career in retail analytics and currently is a Vice President of Merchandise Planning and Allocation with Hot Topic. Born and raised outside Cleveland, Ohio, Reva grew up volunteering for JFSA of Cleveland, where her late mother worked supporting and advocating for the neurodiverse community. Reva studied Economics and Statistics at the University of Rochester in New York. She is a member of Sha’ar Zahav and resides in San Francisco in the Castro with her husband and two daughters.

Ron Glait

Ron serves as the Adult Learning Program Manager and Museum Technology Manager at The Contemporary Jewish Museum, where he develops and leads adult learning opportunities while overseeing the museum’s technology operations. An Israel native, Ron earned his M.Ed. in Visual Literacy and certifications in Curatorial and Museum Studies from the Kibbutzim College of Education (Tel Aviv). With over 15 years of experience in Israeli non-profit organizations dedicated to art and education, he brings a unique blend of expertise to his museum role. Ron moved to the US in 2017 and currently resides in Alameda with his husband.

Sarah Karp

Sarah is a Design Director for Atlassian with over a decade of experience in tech. A lifelong traveler, Sarah moved from her native San Francisco Bay Area to study Art History and Economics at the University of Rochester before continuing on to a six-year adventure living and working in Sydney, Australia. A proud granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor and relative of an October 7th hero, Sarah is passionate about giving back to the Jewish community and advocating for a better future through her work with JFCS and other non-profits. She currently lives in Duboce Triangle in San Francisco with her husband.

Warren Baim

Warren brings 15 years’ experience as an American Sign Language interpreter. His practice spans a wide range of settings, including healthcare, biomedical research and development, software engineering, STEM coursework in secondary and postsecondary education, and public events featuring notable figures from politics, business, and entertainment. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley, where the focus of his studies in Economics included a deep dive into methods used to draw meaningful conclusions from data. Warren is also an active member of his synagogue and devotes a considerable portion of his spare time to volunteering in the community.

Yael Wulfovich Oberndorf

Yael is an experienced product management leader, with a deep passion for fostering thriving Jewish communities. She has a BA and MA from Stanford University, where she was a Presidential, Mayfield and George Shultz Fellow. She has worked in venture capital at Floodgate, in management consulting at Oliver Wyman, and in product marketing and product management at LinkedIn and Amazon. Yael is currently on the ACCESS Global Board and SF Board for the American Jewish Committee and was a Federation Fellow in 2022. In her spare time, Yael leads a book club and loves to swim, bike, and spend time with her loved ones.
