JFCS Is Right on the Money, Says Business Strategist and Fammy Co-Chair Tammy Crown
  • Meet Our Leaders

When JFCS friend, Board and Committee member, and Fammy Awards Gala co-chair Tammy Crown became involved with the agency 10 years ago, she did so after determining through extensive research that JFCS was exactly the type of organization she and her husband, Bill, wanted to support: JFCS takes a holistic approach, focuses on human services, fulfills its mission to a tee, and spends most of its fundraising dollars on essential services.

“JFCS hires and trains great people, and it is constantly looking at itself to see how it can be even more effective,” says Tammy, a former business strategist with degrees from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business. “This type of critical self-assessment is important for any organization that wants to remain sustainable.”

Tammy, who has served as chair of JFCS’ Program and Planning Committee, has observed close-up how strategic the agency is in its operations. As the parents of three young children, she and Bill have also benefited directly from its Parents Place programs, including workshops and consultations.

“Bill and I hold the entire agency in high regard,” says Tammy. “My participation in JFCS activities fulfills in me the desire to ensure that people receive the basic assistance they need in a thoughtful, compassionate way.” s
