“170 YEARS AND STILL PIONEERING!”

Documentary film premiere
Founded during the Gold Rush, JFCS’ story mirrors the epic story of the Bay Area. From a group of 13 poor but determined Bavarian Jewish immigrants, JFCS has grown into one of the largest and most effective family service institutions in the nation.

MONA GOLABEK

How can the lessons of the Holocaust be taught so that today’s children will listen and not be susceptible to messages of hate? Volunteering with JFCS’ Holocaust Center, concert pianist Mona Golabek—through her extraordinary music—has found a way to inspire moral courage in Bay Area teens and youth everywhere.

JOSHUA CARDENAS

How to raise a successful adult? JFCS’ YouthFirst shows thousands of teens the way. And through a beautiful partnership with ACHIEVE, founded and led by the visionary Barbara Bakar, teens discover opportunities that change their lives.
