Request for Community Support Around the War in Israel and Rise in Antisemitism
We know this is a painful and personally difficult time for so many people in our community. JFCS is here for you and all the members and staff of the Jewish-serving organizations across the Bay Area. Whether it’s your congregational families, college students on campus, students and parents at your school—we want to help.
JFCS has created a series of workshops addressing challenges related to the war in Israel and the rise in antisemitism in our community and elsewhere. We can tailor any workshop to your particular audience, and work with you to meet your community’s needs. Our team can present any of these workshops at your organization and provide support on site.
JFCS offers the following workshops:
Listening Skills: Navigating Difficult Conversations with Ease and Connection
Increase your sense of connection to others in the community while building skills to confidently navigate difficult topics with ease, including assessing your strengths as a listener and increasing self-awareness and ability to reset.
Families at Odds: Is the Conflict in Israel Causing Conflict in Your Relationships?
For parents and adult children whose relationships have been affected by their divergent views on the war in Israel, learn constructive ways to address the emotional strain when your viewpoints diverge, and create safe spaces for complex dialogues that nurture relationships and allow you to identify mutually shared values.
Support for Parents: How to Talk with Your College Students Experiencing Antisemitism on Campus
College students may be carrying a great deal of anxiety, stress, fear or even trauma about the current war in Israel and Gaza and the increasing incidents of antisemitism on campus. Learn strategies to help you talk with them about their experiences.
Support for Parents: How to Talk to Your Children About Responding to Antisemitism, Discrimination and Hate
Inspire, empower and guide parents/guardians to address antisemitism and build allyship for the Jewish community through providing steps and tools to support them to be proactive in their communities.
