JFCS changes lives every day—and we couldn’t do it without the help of our volunteers. From providing companionship to isolated seniors to ensuring people in need have access to nutritious meals, volunteers are essential to every aspect of our work.
During Volunteer Appreciation Month, we’re highlighting a few of the many individuals who give their time and talents to strengthen our community.
For Alana Green and her family, volunteering with JFCS has become a meaningful way to live their values—together.
Alana Green, volunteer and inaugural chair of the JFCS Marin Donor Circle:
“For over a decade, JFCS has felt like a second home to our family. It’s been a place where we’ve celebrated holidays with Holocaust Survivors at Cafe by the Bay in San Francisco and come together to create care packages for our Marin neighbors in need.
JFCS has given us the opportunity to put our Jewish values into action while providing our children with a meaningful way to engage in tikkun olam and make a positive impact on our local community.
We are deeply grateful for the dedicated staff who have created opportunities for our family, as well as for both the Jewish and non-Jewish communities, impacting thousands of lives along the way. Thank you, and Kol Hakavod!”
JFCS volunteers help strengthen individuals and families throughout the Bay Area by extending a human touch and meaningful connections to the greater community. JFCS serves thousands of people each year, and our volunteers are a critical component in that care. There are many ways to use your talents and time as a volunteer with JFCS.
