Jewish Family and Children’s Services’ 9th Annual Émigré Community Gala February 6 at Palace Hotel
  • Press Releases

Jewish Family and Children’s Services of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin, and Sonoma Counties will hold its Ninth Annual Émigré Community Gala Saturday evening, February 6, at San Francisco’s historic Palace Hotel, a fitting location as JFCS is celebrating its 160th anniversary of serving the community.

Co-chaired by JFCS supporters Alla and Boris Lipkin of the Peninsula, the event features an hors d’oeuvres and wine reception, a dinner program, and dancing to live music. The Gala, hosted by leaders of the Bay Area’s Russian-speaking émigré community, was created to support people in need in the Bay Area and Israel. Proceeds from the Gala will go toward:

• Emergency financial assistance for families devastated by the economic crisis
• Scholarships for youth in need
• Healing for child victims of trauma and their families
• Care for frail elderly so they can live with dignity

“Through the Gala, we are supporting members of our community who are part of our extended family,” observes Alla Lipkin. “Our émigré community would not be here without the help we received from JFCS. Now it is time for us to fulfill our obligation to support others.”

To receive more information or to reserve a ticket, please call 415-449-1256. Individual tickets are $295 / $180 for guests 35 and under. The price, less $160, is tax-deductible.
