JFCS’ 27th Annual Fammy Awards Gala Set for Sat., Mar. 26
  • Press Releases

Jewish Family and Children’s Services (JFCS) of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties will hold its 27th Fammy Awards Gala on Sat., Mar. 26, at the Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco. Gala Chairs Yamilee Bermingham and Doug Winthrop; Regional Co-Chairs Lisa and John Pritzker (San Francisco), Diane and Howard Zack (Marin County), Linda and Steve Monosson (North Peninsula), Alison and Ken Ross (South Peninsula), and Jan Gilman and Michael Tonjum (Sonoma County); and the entire Gala Committee invite community members to participate in a very special evening, featuring delicious food, great company, a fabulous silent auction, and dancing with Pamela Rose and Sidepocket.

At this year’s Gala, San Francisco philanthropist, psychologist, and JFCS Board of Directors member Dr. Ingrid Tauber will receive the Board of Director’s Distinguished Humanitarian Service Award for her extraordinary philanthropic work locally, nationally, and worldwide. The new JFCS Holocaust Center and its centerpiece, the Tauber Holocaust Library and Education Program, reflect Dr. Tauber’s 21st-century vision for teaching the lessons of the past to future generations. Her leadership, in cooperation with Lisa and John Pritzker, helped found JFCS’ internationally acclaimed Child Trauma Training Institute (CTI), which works to ensure the best possible care for traumatized children by training mental health professionals in early intervention.

Another of the evening’s highlights will be JFCS’ time-honored Fammy Awards program, honoring community members whose stories of triumph and generosity touch and inspire. This year’s honorees include émigré community member and former JFCS client Lida Clebaner, along with her son and daughter; longtime JFCS volunteer and Holocaust survivor Hedy Krasnobrod; and JFCS’ Canine Corps, volunteers and their pets who brighten the lives of isolated seniors, children with special needs, and other JFCS clients.

The Fammy Awards Gala is JFCS’ largest fundraising event of the year. This year, proceeds support JFCS’ Emergency Family Assistance Program, CTI, and the JFCS Holocaust Center.

The event starts with a cocktail reception at 6:30 pm; dinner and dancing begin at 7:30 pm.

Gala tickets are $360 each. Tickets for those 35 and under are $200. To reserve your seats, contact Lilya Mitelman at 415-449-1256 or [email protected], or go to www.jfcs.org
