Canine Corps

Visit JFCS clients with your trained therapy dog!

dog with seniorAt Jewish Family and Children’s Services, we believe in the healing power of companionship. Our Canine Corps is a program designed to bring comfort and joy to seniors and adults with disabilities. Our dedicated volunteers and their therapy dogs will visit individuals in need, offering a furry friend’s unconditional love and support. Join us as we improve quality of life, one wagging tail at a time.

The program includes:

  • 6 sessions with an experienced dog trainer
  • Learning and connection with JFCS and JFCS clients
  • Visiting a homebound JFCS client with your trained therapy dog!

By completing the course, participants will be prepared to undertake Therapy Dog International testing. This testing occurs simultaneously with the course’s conclusion, ensuring a seamless transition from learning to qualification.

Our current cohort for the Canine Corps training is full and applications are closed. Please check back for dates for our next cohort.
