Math Tutor at After School Program for Elementary School Students

Do you have one hour per week to give?

Spend your time volunteering with elementary school students, tutoring, hanging out, mentoring and making a difference! Volunteers work with elementary school students in a group setting, providing supportive friendship, encouragement, guidance and academic assistance. Just an hour a week can help students succeed at home, at school and with their friends. The elementary school program takes place at Hebrew Academy, on Tuesdays from 4-5pm. For more information, contact Taylor Epstein at 415/359-2463 or TaylorE@jfcs.org.

Become a Compassionate Companion

When people are suffering, whether they are in decline, undergoing challenging treatments, or near the end of their lives, helping them live safely and independently in their homes, and improving quality of life becomes more important than ever. Volunteers play a vital role in carrying out this mission. Seniors At Home in collaboration with CPMC is offering a comprehensive 25-hour Palliative and End of Life Care Volunteer Training Program beginning March 18, 2008. No prior medical or hospice experience is necessary. To learn how you can make a difference in just a few hours a week, please contact Rachel Kesselman at 415/449-1288 or RachelK@jfcs.org.

Senior Companion in Sonoma

Help to brighten the day of a senior with your friendly visit. We need volunteers to visit isolated and/or frail seniors living alone, in board and care homes or assisted living facilities on a weekly basis for one hour. We currently have a list of seniors eagerly waiting to be matched with a senior companion.
